Millwall Community Trust’s (MCT) Military Veterans Football Programme welcomed Bromley FC’s Military Veterans to The Lions Centre on Saturday morning.

Prior to The Lions facing Portsmouth, MCT’s Military Veterans side in partnership with Military Veteran Football Club welcomed the visitors into The Lions Centre for a competitive but well spirited match.

The programme in partnership with Military Veteran Football Club provides ex-forces personnel from across London an opportunity to play  football via access to Millwall Community Trust’s indoor Lions Centre 3G on Thursday's between 8pm-9pm.

The programme also works with ex Forces Charities and support agencies and provide wrap around education, employability and health and well being support to attendees and Millwall ex forces volunteer ambassadors through CPD and workshops from armed forces charities and organisations and Millwall Community Trust’s Employability support team.

Bromley FC’s Military Veteran programme was started in June 2025. The sides have now played at both Bromley and Millwall prior to home fixtures.

Following on from the match both sides headed up to the Royal British Legion Coffee Morning before heading to The Den as they received free tickets to watch the Championship clash.

Both sides took part in Southwark’s Health Checks at The Lions Centre after the game - giving them an opportunity to check blood pressure and other key health checks.

Alex Vandyke, Military Veteran said: “Another fantastic opportunity for the Millwall Military Veterans to get the boots on and play football.

“Bromley’s Military Veterans brought a very well organised side and it was fantastic to see another EFL club start a Military Veteran’s football team but it wasn’t enough to test Millwall’s strength and experience with The Lions winning 7-0.

“It was a great day spending time with like minded Veterans and sharing stories of our service together. Another fantastic RBL coffee morning in the cafe also, thank you Daniele from Homewood Solutions for your hospitality.”
