Last week Millwall Community Trust held their highly successful October Half-Term Holiday Camps, catering to the enthusiastic youth of the community.
The camp sessions, spanning from 10am-3pm each day, took place at two distinct locations within Southwark and Lewisham.
In Southwark, the camp was held at St Paul’s Sports Ground in Rotherhithe, focusing primarily on football development following the Millwall curriculum via technical sessions and small sided games. Here, eager participants had the opportunity to sharpen their ball skills while delighting in a fun and engaging environment. It was all about enhancing their soccer abilities and having a blast in the process.
On the other hand, the Lewisham camp took place at The Lions Centre, offering a multi-sports experience in partnership with England Athletics and Kent Cricket.. Attendees had the chance to explore a variety of sports activities, broadening their horizons and trying their hands under the expert guidance of the sport coaches. For those inclined towards artistic endeavours, Arts and Crafts were also available, ensuring a well-rounded experience for all.
Both camps collectively welcomed over 100 enthusiastic young individuals daily, clearly indicating their popularity and the positive impact they had on the local community.
Tim Sells, the Football and Sports Development Manager at Millwall Community Trust, expressed his delight with the camps, highlighting their commitment to supporting and enriching the local community: “What a fantastic set of holiday camps and we are glad that all participants enjoyed themselves. Being able to work in partnership with other National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs) such as England Athletics and Kent Cricket, really added value to our multi-sport delivery and gave the children an unbelievable experience.
