MILLWALL COMMUNITY TRUST Job Description Post: Millwall RTC Foundation and Youth Phase Goalkeeper Coach Based at: Millwall Community Trust, Millwall Lions Centre, Bolina Road, SE16 3LN Reports to: RTC Technical Director Post Summary: The designated role Foundation and Youth phases Goalkeeper coach is responsible for implementing the Goalkeeper(GK) element of the Millwall RTC technical and tactical coaching syllabus, planning, delivery and evaluating coaching sessions and games programme based on the Millwall RTC philosophy, the FA RTC criteria and England DNA Length of Contract: Part time (fixed -term) Hours / Shifts: Approximately 4 hrs per week plus matchday including weekends Flexibility: In order to work effectively in a changing environment, flexibility is required from the post-holder. Description of duties: 1.0 Key Responsibilities Be self-motivated, committed and reliable. To plan, deliver and evaluate, a high quality, professional GK coaching and games programme based on the Millwall RTC syllabus reflecting the needs of the players in the foundation and youth phases Ensuring that continuous reference to FA Four Corners and the Long term player development (LTPD) model is within planning and delivery. To prepare and implement well-structured and progressive GK coaching sessions and game match experience, ensuring a high quality, enjoyable coaching experience centred on the needs of the players, to ensure that sessions plans are sent to the Technical director 24 hours in advance of session. To take positive steps to identify and overcome barriers to participation amongst young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, prioritising access and inclusion To assist in identifying talented young players and encouraging further development via RTC Talent Camps To be a positive role model, creating a stimulating and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage females to excel in football To be committed to continuous professional development relevant to the post and personal training needs supporting future career advancement. To maintain current knowledge of relevant Football Association programmes, policies and practice. To carry out administrative duties as necessary e.g. maintain accurate attendance registers, carry out risk assessments and to assist in the collation of management information Ensure that all administrative parts of coaching/work completed (Team sheets. Minutes of playing time for each player) Evidencing of planning and evaluation of sessions and competition. To develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships with all partners and to attend regular meetings as and when necessary Have the ability to communicate effectivity with players and parents.
