MCT Host Community Day for Millwall FC
Millwall FC’s fixture this Saturday, against Norwich City, will play host to Millwall’s annual “Community Day” where MCT show off the range of programmes that we offer and put on a range of activities, and this year will be bigger and better than ever!
In the build-up to the game, the Trust will use the Lions centre and some of the club’s car park, to showcase a small part of their work in the local community. In the Lions centre, Millwall community trust’s down syndrome team will play their Norwich city counterparts.
Alongside this, ‘MCT Premier League Kicks’ teams will play matches in the indoor astroturf and participants of MCT National Citizen Service (NCS)and Millwall FC RTC girls team players will work alongside volunteers from other projects to drive a stadium-wide bucket collection to raise funds for the charity.
The FAN ZONE will have a range of activities for the day including dart football and table football, to mention a few. Limited edition Community Trust wristbands and t-shirts will be given out around the stadium.
The community action will continue on the pitch as the Millwall RTC girl players will provide a guard of honour and ball girls for the first team.
At half time, MCT down syndrome teams and Millwall RTC Girls teams will take a lap of honour around the stadium.
Sean Daly, MCT Football Development Manager, said: “We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all who support the Trust; from players and club staff to fans, partners and the local community. As a self-financing charity, events like Community Day are so important in allowing us to continue our work in the local community, so please come and join in the celebrations.”
