Millwall Community Trust (MCT) has been supporting staff at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust through their ‘Hospital Heroes’ project. The project allows MCT to deliver a range of engaging initiatives and programmes to provide NHS workers from local hospitals opportunities for respite.

Hospital heroes have provided programmes such as:

  •  Buddy - Health walks
  •  Story reading
  •  Tea / Coffee sessions
  •  Wellbeing Centre
  •  Frontline works – shopping/parcel delivery service completed by MCT
  •  Walking sports sessions (football, netball, basketball, bowls, etc)

Staff from Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust have expressed their gratitude, they said:

“Thank you for supporting our staff.

“I am writing to thank you for your kind support / donation. We are immensely grateful to have had your help in supporting the wellbeing of our frontline colleagues during the second wave of the covid-19 pandemic when they were under extraordinarily high levels of pressure.

“I know from the feedback that we have received from staff across the Trust that the donated items were exceedingly well received, but more importantly, your generosity has made them feel supported and thought about.

“I have attached a certificate to show our gratitude.

“Staff wellbeing continues to be a key priority for the Trust, and staff will have access to a range of options that will support their physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing going forwards. Please email lg.covid19wellbeing@nhs.net if you would like to donate anything.
