Millwall’s Community Day Success
This weekend saw MCT hosted Millwall FC’s inaugural community day!
Activities started in the Lions Centre sports hall, with our Family Fan Zone which had a range of activities including a bouncy castle, badge making and darts football, even Zampa the Lion had a go!
The Lions Centre also played host to a game between MCT’s Downs Syndrome Lions team and a Downs Syndrome team from Norwich City Community Sports Foundation. Despite Millwall coming out on top on this occasion, a great game was had by all, with both teams doing a great job at representing their clubs.
Young Millwall fans, Ellice Barr and Harvey Brown, were invited to be mascots for the day, leading the teams out onto the pitch before kick off. Our RTC and DS Lions team also got the chance to lead the teams out onto the field before kick-off.
Sean Daly, Football Development manager, said: “We want to thank everyone from club staff, players, and our students and volunteers for helping make Community Day a success.
“As a self- financing organisation, we rely on the generosity and support of fans and supporters to help provide programmes that change the lives of people in our local community, so events like Community Day are vital for our continued success.
“After this year’s success, we hope to see many more Community Days in the future!”
